The Caudle's First Catch
In the early 1980’sRon Caudle left his hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotiaand headed west to Kitchener-Waterloo to begin a career in retail management. At the time, he had no way of knowing how much his Maritime roots would affect his life’s work.
“Every time I’d go back to Halifax for a visit, people from K-W would ask me to bring back lobster and salmon. There wasn’t much available here in the early ‘80’s,” says Ron.
Sensing a business opportunity, Ron and his wife Sylvia opened their first Caudle’s Catch Seafood retail store – a modest 500 square foot location on Kingsbury Drive, Kitchener – on April 4, 1986.
“As more people started recognizing thehealth benefits of seafoodand adding it to their diet, there was a greater demand for it. That’s basically how our business grew,” states Sylvia.
Grocery stores responded by expanding their seafood offerings. As Caudle’s Catch Seafood has already established areputation for quality and service, naturally they became the wholesale supplier of choice.
Over 30 Years Later
Today, Caudle's Catch has expanded their retail operations to meet the demand of a growing and loyal customer base.
